The year is coming to an end and Christmas break will start at St1’s geothermal heat project site in Otaniemi, Espoo, on week 52. Drilling of the second production well has proceeded better than expected, and the experiences from previous drilling phase have been utilized effectively. We were now able to reach the depth of 4925 meters – which means nearly 1600 meters’ progress during this autumn.
In January 2020 drilling will be continued towards the target, some 6200 meters. The drilling work is expected to be completed during the first half of April. Target schedule for commissioning of the geothermal heat production plant is October 2020.
