St1 completed the purchase of the shares of Statoil Fuel & Retail Marine AS in Norway

In November 2017 Alimentation Couche-Tard decided to sell 100% of the shares in Statoil Fuel & Retail Marine AS (“SFR Marine”) to St1 Norge AS, a subsidiary of St1 Nordic Oy. The conditions imposed by the Norwegian Competition Authority have been fulfilled and the sale has now been approved and the ownership of all the shares in SFR Marine have changed.
SFR Marine delivers fuel to the marine sector along the Norwegian coast. All SFR Marine’s employees will remain employed by the same legal entity as before the sale and the customer offer will not be changed due to the transaction.

The Norwegian Competition Authority imposed a condition to divest St1’s existing marine business in the Stavanger region, and it has been sold to Bunker Oil.

“We are glad that the process has now been completed, so we can focus on our new customers and strengthen our presence in the Norwegian market,” says Mika Wiljanen, CEO of St1 Norge AS.

“The teams on both sides have done a great job in making this happen. We are confident that this transaction will ensure development of the marine business”, says Christoffer Sundby, Senior Vice President Norway in Circle K.
