St1 Oy’s purchase of distribution station network in Sweden and Norway finalised
Energy company St1 Oy signed on June 1st a contract to buy 198 unmanned stations in Sweden and Norway from StatoilHydro ASA. The transaction agreed in April has now been given the mandatory local regulatory approvals and final EU buyer approval.
Under this agreement, St1 purchased 158 fuel distribution stations in Sweden (118 Hydro/Uno-X stations and 40 JET stations) and 40 Jet fuel distribution stations in Norway.
With the new acquisitions, St1’s network in Sweden covers now the entire country, with 200 fuel distribution stations nationwide. The acquired distribution stations in Norway are located in the Oslo region. All the distribution stations will continue their operations as before. With the present transaction, St1’s market share in fuel sales will reach approximately 8% in Sweden and just under 5% in Norway.
